The board has received some follow up questions from our members that we would like to address. We look forward to connecting with you in person at the General Membership Meeting on May 6th at 5:30 at the pool to continue the conversation.

    1. Has the club received bids for the plastering project?  Yes, the Maintenance Chair met with AquaGunnite, Adams Pool Solutions and Burketts Pool Plastering in Winter 2022 for the initial bids and then met with them again in Fall 2022 for updated bids and follow up questions. The board decided on Burketts Pool Plastering since their bid was in the mid-range and they have an excellent reputation for their work.
    2. Is there an analysis that can be shared with the membership to show the need for the assessment? The club currently has $112,000 of unrestricted cash to get through the entire season.  That may sound like a lot but after annual operating expenses ($90,000) and debt service ($13,000) the club is projected to have about $9,000 left at the end of the season. This is well short of the needed $110,000 for the pool replastering project.
    3. Why are members on the sell list still being assessed? The replastering project is a maintenance project.  All of our long term members have enjoyed the low membership rates for many years and are still liable for the assessment as long as they are members. We are all part owners of the pool which is different from other activities where you just pay when you choose to participate.
    4. Why are long term members assessed at a higher rate? The replastering project is a maintenance project.  All of our long term members have enjoyed low membership rates for many years and we have distributed the cost as equitably as possible based on years of use of the pool in the past and expected forward use.
    5. Why are new members going to be assessed as well even if it is less? New members will enjoy the most time out of this work’s benefit. We have distributed the cost as equitably as possible based on years of use of the pool in the past and expected forward use.
